Why Terra's Wears?  We believe in creating and selling positive Earth friendly products you can feel good about.  Terra's wears are made with love by us, Terra and Chris.  Whenever possible we use organic, hemp, or recycled materials. All of our material is pre-washed using (only plant based, non-petroleum, non-toxic, biodegradable, & non animal tested) detergents such as ECOVER & Seventh Generation. Each of the companies who's products we have chosen to carry, have been selected not only for their quality products but also for their ethical, social and environmental policies and practices.  Some of these practices include support of workers rights, providing fair wages, health care, child care, free lunches, using environmentally low impact dyes and organic materials.  Many of the products we carry are made in the U.S. by smaller family businesses. Why Organic? Organic cotton is material grown and produced with out the use of pesticides, fertilizers, industrial chemicals or genetically engineered seeds.  Every step in the organic cotton fabric production is closely followed and must comply with organic certification standards.  Some of the benefits include, less contamination from chemicals leaching in to our water supply,  less pollution in the air we breath, improved farm & crop diversity and less exposure to harmful chemicals for workers and you. When you purchase organic clothing & food you are casting a vote against corporate controlled agribiz and for a naturally sustainable future and a cleaner & healthier planet for generations to come.    More information & Links coming soon.

Why Hemp? Hemp is one of the oldest and strongest organic natural fibers. It is the most environmentally positive crop, improving soil quality as it grows, and it grows  extremely fast, producing more fiber yield per acre than any other source. The hemp plant produces at least three and a half times or (250%) more fiber than cotton plants per acre & is at least 10 times stronger. Hemp's rapid growth suppresses weeds. The plant is naturally resistant to insects & fungus so it requires no herbicides, pesticides, or fungicides making it naturally organic. Maybe most importantly hemp is a renewable natural resource capable of replacing most of our non-renewable & environmentally damaging resources such as the oil, coal & timber industries. One acre of hemp yields as much energy as 25 barrels of oil & can replace every type of (war causing, acid rain & greenhouse gas producing) fossil fuel energy product we depend on today, making us naturally energy independent. Hemp also produces 4 times as much paper & more oxygen per acre than trees."Let small farms grow a clean renewable fuel source & let the trees grow." Hemp is also a biodegradable replacement for plastics, a safe alternative to nuclear power, a natural herbal healing agent with a wide variety on medical uses. The highest of any plant in essential fatty acids, hemp seeds make a highly nutritious vegetable oil & hemp's complete protein is an economically viable world food source.
